Do you have suggestions... Paphiopedilum sanderianum or hybrid with P. sanderianum?

Thank you very much for your input! It surely makes sense.

Do you have suggestions... Paphiopedilum sanderianum or hybrid with P. sanderianum?

Here I checked for some older pictures of the same plant. They were taken on May 07. 2009, when I was able to carry the plant down into the garden. Maybe they'll give a better impression how the characteristics are.

    Paphiopedilum x Sandcanh (P. sanderianum x P. canhii)

    ...that would be interesting!

    Paphiopedilum x Sandcanh (P. sanderianum x P. canhii)

Now, after more of a month, additional buds are emerging from the fan. Hopefully the next flower will be perfect.

Do you have suggestions... Paphiopedilum sanderianum or hybrid with P. sanderianum?

Dear all, Since around 20 years I cultivate this slipper orchid that I ordered from Popow as a small seedling as Paphiopedilum sanderianum x P. parishii. Within this time there were some ups and downs, but it flowers more or less every three to four years in summer with an inflorescence...

    Paphiopedilum x Sandcanh (P. sanderianum x P. canhii)

Certainly it's ok, thank you! I am really fascinated by this plant. It's always such an exiting surprise to see what will emerge from a cross that flowers the first time after all these years of culture.

    Paphiopedilum x Sandcanh (P. sanderianum x P. canhii)

It's difficult to say from your picture whether the plant shares more characteristics with P. sanderianum or P. canhii. On the other hand we do not know how if a hybrid is more similar to the mother (by sharing mitochondria and plastids that mostly are inherited maternally) or the father plant...

    Paphiopedilum x Sandcanh (P. sanderianum x P. canhii)

...tried to load them up the first time, and in what I saw on the screen, they were there. I hope it works now.

    Paphiopedilum x Sandcanh (P. sanderianum x P. canhii)

In Nov. 2018 I purchased this P. sanderianum x P. canhii by auction at Ebay from Asendorfer Orchideenzucht. Olaf Gruss registered this cross in 2019 as P. x Sandcanh. As I recognized that Elite Orchids sells this cross as P. canhii x P. sanderianum, it might be possible that this is the same...

What's Everyone's Experience with Paphiopedilum vietnamense?

In April around 12 years ago I bought a P. vietnamense on an orchid exhibition in the Palmengarten in Frankfurt Germany. The plant was, with several other species (mostly without label), that all were in bad condition (damaged leaves, no flowers or buds) on a bargain bin. As I saw the broad...

Paphiopedilum Tanja Pinkepank (P. fairrieanum x P. micranthum)

Yellowish with a dusky pink towards the opening of the pouch and towards the margin of the petals and the dorsal sepal.

Hi everybody, here a hybrid that flowers the first time for me which I purchased from Cramer in Germany. All the best
