I closed my eyes and this approx 10 buds appeared on this skinneri… I should sleep more lol. As if that wasn’t enough, the late to the party season flowers of the percivaliana peloric appeared out of nowhere. Then deep at the back of the shelve I saw these 3 flowers of the jenmanii...

Though smaller than my ‘Splendiferous’ cultivar, it has good form (erect dorsal and upturned petals) and crisp color. Awarded almost 10 years ago, it came from the same line as my jenmanii semialba ‘April Fools’ HCC/AOS. NS 13 cm. Flowering beautifully at DavidB. I will be pollinated this...

Very fragrant. Grows intermediate to warm in bright light in my lower shelf. NS 16 cm.

I have dreamt about owning a jenmanii with this lip pattern like jenmanii s/a ‘Canaima Lipstick’ (remember our discussion in other threads?). I finally was able to get one! Triple yayyyy 🥳. Here it is in all its splendour! NS 14.5 cm

Blooming for the 2nd time in 6 months, jenmaniis are very floriferous, making two flowering growths a year if happy. This one produced larger flowers in the fall, with the cool nights elongating the floral parts and allowing more blue pigments to colasce. Huge at NS = 17 cm!!

Part of my cattleya species collection. This jenmanii semialba has a sweet fragrance. I call her ‘TuLip’ because of a friend’s nickname! Flowers last over 3 weeks. Semialbas are probably one of my favourite colour forms in the Cattleya alliance after the flameas.
