this is from Lourens Grobler at redlands this past may. amazing that it came from south africa, no roots, and actually bloomed 5 months later.. its elro on spiculata flowers lasted about a week so maybe worth keeping... spurs are almost 7" long

and i'm never awake when it's dark - so not really sure about night time ;-)
