It's such a lovely species even if it can be persnickety sometimes.

I'm obsessed with fragrant orchids, even stinky ones, but I don't like the scent of my plant's flowers. It's actually a bit repulsive to me.

I've been back and forth over the years about whether I should just depart with the plant. Finally this year I was leaning towards getting rid of it, so when it bloomed I set it out in the hallway because I really didn't care if the flowers died off early from low humidity, low light, and unstable temperatures.

Turns out, my partner and mom both love the fragrance immensely and mentioned it almost every night that it was in bloom. So anyway, that's the story behind why I'm going to keep the darned thing after all.
