Are there any musicians out there? What do you play, how long have you been playing, and what are some of your favorite songs to play?

I play fiddle and violin (same instrument, just different styles). I've been doing both for over 4 1/2 years. I like to play Old Joe Clark, Orange Blossom Special, and Allegro.

I've been learning piano for just over a year. Started when my daughter began getting lessons. It is the hardest thing I have ever done. I wake up 5 AM every morning and practice for at least an hour. I have a digital piano which means I can play with ear phones. For the first 6 months I wondered why I was doing it as it was just so difficult. Playing two hands at once and trying to read left hand and right hand music at the same time. It seemed impossible. I'm getting OK now and enjoying it more.

Having played for a relatively short period of time I haven't built up a huge play list. I seem to like and play OK two styles - blues/boogie and classical, particularly baroque pieces. I really like Bach and have learnt quite a few of his compositions now. My favourite Bach piece I have learnt was "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring". I'm not sure music gets any more beautiful than that. Other Bach pieces I enjoyed were 'Prelude' and the two Minuets.

One of the first pieces I learnt was 'Old Joe Clark's Boogie' by Gerald Martin. Is that the one you are talking about? A really cool piece. I really enjoy that style. Not too difficult to learn as the left hand is basically the same throughout the piece.

Currently I'm working on

Deep Blue Sea Boogie - Gerald Martin
Sonatina - Clementi
Old French Song - Tchaikowsky

I also muck around on guitar strumming Paul Kelly and Bob Dylan songs. Nothing serious though

As you can guess from my name, I play cello (for almost 30 years). If I have free time, I work on Bach's 6th Suite, Sarabande.

My background in cello helped me transition to voice. I also sing in a volunteer symphonic choir in the area. (Last year, we backed-up Andrea Bocelli; I can be seen here in “Amazing Grace” at around the 3 minute mark:

that's great (of course also Bocelli):clap::clap:!!!! Jean

I am a singer, too - nothing all that sophisticated. Besides church choir, I have been a member of the Abington Oratorio Choir for about 5 years.

Sang in a rock band and occasionally played drums in high school.
