I bought this as Barbosella hirtzii (which is not a published name) from Ecuagenera in May 2017. This is the first time blooming for me, so I checked Luer's Icones Pleurothallidinarum XX. I keyed it to B. cucullata, and the illustration and description seems to match well with this plant. The color seems to be a bit paler. But this is a wide-spread species, and Luer notes a large variation within this species (mostly in size). I'm calling it B. cucullata, but I'm curious if anyone can see a difference. I might have missed a difference between B. "hirtzii" and B. cucullata.
Leaf: 70x5mm
ramicaul (stem below the leaf): 7mm long
Dorsal sepal 36x2mm
synsepal: 33x8mm
petal 16x2mm
petal 6x3mm
column 5x1mm
ovary: 4mm long
bract: 3mm long
peduncle (stem below ovary): 12cm long
It has a pretty big flower and it is very nice. It will be a nice one, once it starts to bloom multiple flowers!
