There is some question about what’s the right name for this orchid? It was sold as
Brassavola nodosa ‘Mas Mejor’ AM/AOS. Many plants sold as nodosa have pencil-like cylindrical leaves. There are pictures of orchids with the name nodosa ‘mas mejor’ on the internet and I’ve seen the same name used as a parent for ‘nodosa’ outcrossing and hybridizing. The leaves of this plant are very different from the standard nodosa. This is bigger, flat leaves and the flowers are fragrant at night, like, I assume, the smaller nodosas.
What is the correct recognized name for this plant? Is it brassavola grandiflora or nodosa var grandiflora, or ?.
Thanks! Glad to hear input from more knowledgeable people
