This is one of 4-5 hybrids I have in the alliance. A primary cross between Sophronitis lucasiana (now Cattleya longipipes) and Sophronitis ghyllanyi (now a Cattleya), supposedly. Some say it may be contaminated with loddigesii due to the color and lip structure. Thus the name.
A miniature plant no more that 15 cm tall. Very vigorous with about 12 bulbs. Grows with almost 3000 fc in my warm area. Needed that high light to bloom.
Flowers open yellow cream and matures to light pink. Very heavy substance. No scent detected. NS 5 cm.
I had expected deep pinks with a bright yellow lip like the parents. But alas it wasn’t so and therefore I’m not very fond of it . Originally from Wakayama Orchids in Japan.
