This is a select plant from Bela Vista Orchids imported by the sadly missed Regina Elsner last summer. It’s still not quite adapted to European time having crossed the equator but purpurata is as tough as old boots and has done well. It put out new roots within a few weeks and proceeded to produce a late growth this spring which has just flowered.
Given what it has gone through I’m very pleased with the outcome, nice shape and excellent deep rubra colour.
