Jean I bought 2 plants from Mr. Popow, first was weixiense, a new species for me. Some month later I got taronensis.
Both plants are of the same species. I think, Popow changed the name from weixiense to taronenis, which would be correct.

I got one plant from Popow and another one from Elsner last fall. One is mounted the other in pot. They are just starting new growth now.
How do you grow yours?

Interesting species. At those altitudes it should be able take quite a bit of frost.
It should be able to take frost. I prefer such plants due to my conditions.
But with just imported plants from China I prefer to keep them a little bit warmer in the first years. I think I can reduce the infection risk by higher temperatures.

Nice flower. It is a much smaller plant than I imagined from the first photo. Really RX1? It is an interesting camera to use for plant photos! I didn't know there is a ring flash for this camera.

Yes it is. The ring flash is not a true flash but a continuously burning LED-light, not very powerful but good enough for flower photos
