Cymbidium goeringii Display (Chinese) at the March 2025 Southern Ontario Orchid Society (SOOS) meeting (Toronto, Canada). This display included plants from me and Flora Peculia. Grown in Toronto, Canada.

He Shen Mei: round sepals (plum sepal shape) with a distinctive yellow marking on the petals.

Da Fu Gui: lotus petal (the petals are folded at the tip)

Song Mei: round sepals (plum sepal shape), probably the most popular Chinese clone

Zhen Di'e: Butterfly variety. The petals and the dorsal petal are fused forming an arc. The lateral sepals partially become the lip.

The plants are placed on an ornated Chinese style stands.

To have all of these in bloom at the same time! Such precision!!
Like tulips, Cymbidium goeringii can be divided into 3 categories: early bloomer, mid bloomer, and late blooming. The first 2 weeks of March is when about 90% of Cymbidium goeringii bloom. 2 of the plants are early bloomers in the display, so I cut the flowers off after the meeting today. Everything else in the display are mid bloomer. I have 2-3 more that are late bloomer, so another 2-3 weeks before they bloom.
