I can't comment a whole lot on care and cultivation. This was an impulse purchase earlier this year from Tarzane Group. It sounded like an orchid I could get away with keeping out in the minimally heated greenhouse and with a growth habit that hopefully won't take up too awful much space.

It was listed a fragrant in my search. It's not super fragrant, but early in the day it has a distinct vanilla butter cookie smell. Not super strong, but I can get a good whiff if I stick my nose up to the flower. It reminds me a lot of my Albuca spiralis if that's familiar to anyone here.

It took a long time to start sending up new growths. I didn't even see any nubs until early June. Pretty much all of my other deciduous Dendrobiums start developing new growths much earlier. I don't know if that's normal for this species or simply an anomaly due to the plant getting acclimated to new living conditions.

I really like the lip on these flowers and that's one of the biggest reasons I decided to give it a try. Very eye catching, though they seem to hang down so I had to artificially lift the mount so that the flowers were in a position for me to photograph.

Anybody else grow this species or have experience with it? I'm keeping it hot and watering frequently this summer. In winter I'll be keeping it cool to cold (but above freezing) and from what I've read I should keep it dry but not as much as I would with Nobile type Dends.
