A cute little species from Laos and Thailand.
I got this in bud in July 2013. The very last picture shows how the plant looked one month after I bought it back then.
I didn't like it very much but kept it any way since it was so tiny and did not take up much space.

It grows one cane per year for me so far, blooms in July every year like a clock work, and with each passing season, the flower count has gone up quite a bit. Rewarding is the word for this plant. :)

The rest of the pictures show the progress of buds developing over the course of about two months from June to last week of July.

The color is quite something in person. Electrifying! :)

Wow! Love it... I have unicum, but not that free flowering in tropical lowland without artificial cooling..

Mine sits by the window.
In the winter, I never open the window, but the plant experiences temperature no lower than 65F I believe.

It likes its spot there.
Grows well, and then drops all the leaves by late fall, then stays that way until about mid spring.

You should try this instead of unicum?
Flowers are similar but bigger on this species.

Nice, right? :)
It's a keeper. Good thing I never tossed it. lol

OMG, all the "could have been good" stuffs I threw away all these years. hahahaha

I need to work on my patience. ;)
Well, buying paph flasks and seedlings in recent years was a start of my patience builder, and so far, I have not tossed any baby paph seedlings.
I'm so proud! haha

Did you throw yours away because it dropped all the leaves?? :p

Many dendrobiums go deciduous.

Thanks. I would try this but there's no winter here. :p If it is more warmth-tolerant than unicum (doesn't require as long a cool period to spike), then I would consider this..

This is unhealthy... Yet another, drop dead gorgeous, miniature Dendrobium species that might like living with me...

It's stunning! :smitten:
