Dendrobium officinale is an important traditional medicine in China. Some biomedical benefits of this species (and related Dendrobium) have been scientifically examined. For example, some compounds in the cane seem to have the anti-cancer effect. It could be called D. catenatum or D. tosaense, but I'm going along with the proposition to preserve the name widely used. The taxonomy and nomenclature of this species is pretty confusing. I briefly summarized the current state (or more like current state of my understanding) in my Orchid Borealis blog post (link). Also, I included links to medical reviews.
I got this plant from Louisiana Orchid Connection. It doesn't have the typical red marks in the middle of the lip, but I'm guessing that it is the correct ID.
