1000x thank you. Im cautiously hopful it isnt a disease to boot but will get the miticide. Never had them in all my time. The sprays I have listed mites but seems like I need to go more specific for the productYou have mites and you do not see webs every time.
Soaps won’t do much at all.
Insecticides won’t do much either. Why? Mites are not insects. They belong to the Arachnid family- spiders.
A systemic control will do the job over time, not instantly. Or use a miticide. Those work on mites.
Annoying but treatable! Thank you. Any specific products youd recommend? Lots of phals and paphs in the collection. Plus anthurium and philoYup! You got mites!
Try Avid miticide! I believe it is systemic...Expensive but it works very well on mites....Be careful...it is lethal! You can absorb it through the skin(I was told).Annoying but treatable! Thank you. Thanks for the heads up. I will look into it and be extra cautiousTry Avid miticide! I believe it is systemic...Expensive but it works very well on mites....Be careful...it is lethal! You can absorb it through the skin(I was told).
*sometimes, people sell it in a smaller amount of it on Ebay... you only need 12-15 drops for a gallon of water.
Sorry for asking a bunch of questions on this. Do I google labs or is there a kit? I sincerely appreciate all the help. I don’t think in all my years of having Orchids I’ve had a virus since leaves have never ended up looking so awful. I’ve also never had as many as I have now, so I fully understand that in itself can cause problems if they are not meticulously care for and checked.Test it if you think it is a virus...
Far le noticeable, but you can tell where those light patches are on the other side. Tested one of the leaves last night came back negative for CYMMV and the other that strip tests for. I 100% have mites and have started battling them. All of the leaves on this one are a bit pallor, but not sickly looking. Perhaps it’s some sort of deficiency?what does the underside of those leaves look like?
Those are not typical symptoms of the two viruses that the home test kits are used for. For most Phalaenopsis, CymMV and ORSV show no particular symptoms. What you have in these pictures are mostly likely those caused by what I mentioned in my precious comment. You will have to send a leaf sample to a lab that specializes orchid diseases.I have been testing for CYMMV and ORSV all have come back negative, except one Vanda, which was somewhat obvious. Any clue what these almost perfect circle light spots on the leaves are? I feel like I’ve seen this photo online in one of my searches, but now cannot find the image.
They are not sunken in or bulging

Avid is specific and excellent for mites. Floramite is also good if you need more than 2 sprays and to rotate.1000x thank you.
