This is my first compot. I purchased it from PaphParadise several months ago because I’d unsuccessfully been on the hunt for a fairrieanum album for some time, so I decided to give it a try.

I potted up about 12 small seedlings today. I have about 8 plus “runts” that I think are too small to pot up.

What do people normally do with any of the smallest plants? Toss them? Put them back in a community pot and see if they mature since they aren’t being crowded out?

And if anyone has any tips or suggestions for transitioning these fledglings I’d love to hear that as well.

I just did it today with a paph compot (Wossner Black Wings x Joanna Burkhardt). Three absolutely gigantic plants - one was at least 12" across. The gigantic ones went right into 3.5" pots. I usually make up 'mini-compots' with the remainders - 5 or so to a 2.25" pot.

Wow, that’s a significant difference in size between plants! Thanks for the additional advice.
