Got this as a 2 year seedling 1 year ago. This picture is from yesterday. Bud development is quite fast, at least if compared to some of the paphs.

An attempt to see it better.

Had to take another picture this morning, unfortunately its out of focus. The colour is stunning.

Mine has been preparing to spike for some time now. The base keeps getting fatter and fatter, and yet the sheath(s) is/are taking a long time to move out of the crown. I guess it's preparing to put on a show.

Anyway, the color on your newly opening plant is beautiful. I hope it stays that way, since in my experience, these kovachii hybrids start out looking like rockstars with great petal shape and deep, intense colors. Then as they age, the petals start to twist and curl asymmetrically and the color typically fades quite a bit.

I still love them though. The flowers are impressive in size for a slipper, and even if the color fades, it still usually ends up being attractive.

Please take a picture tomorrow. I think It will keep that amazing color!

Well, It is fading and changing. this one was from today. Interesting to see how fast the colors change! BUT there is an issue with the lightning. Todays picture is a bit paler than in real life as was yesterdays picture perhaps a little bit too rich.
One thing I noticed is that flashlight totally changes the appearance (colors)

So getting representative colors of these things is difficult. I believe that was mentioned in the Orchid Review(or the Orchid?) some time ago in connection with an award winning kovachii.
