This is one I just managed to save from the dreaded crown rot which almost decimated my phrag stock a couple of years ago. This had just one small growth which looked OK whilst the rest of the plant was giving up the struggle for survival. Anyhow it came through the ordeal and this is the first flowering. Not the best of flowers for shape but quite large and living!!

I find that shape to be fairly typical for P. kovachii hybrids. A lot of the flatter looking flower photos you see are taken as the bud is just opening, before the reflexing starts to kick in. The color is nice, though, and you're right, they are big flowers!
