Guidelines for each Paph subgenus?

Hi, I got into orchids about a year ago and tried out bunch of different kinds: Catts, Phals, Dends, Vandas, and of course Paphs and many more. Both hybrids and species.
Most of them are doing well.

After a year of getting the gist of orchids I decided Paphs are my thing and focus more on Paphs this year.

Anyways I am having struggle with finding subgenus-specific requirements for Paphs.
So please share your insights and experiences.

Welcome from Wa state. Your begonia looks very happy. Paphs are my thing and I am new to them also. But I am still learning how to grow them well,so I will let someone else chime in with the cultural info you are looking for. Below is the first paph that bloomed for me, Delrosi 'Teal' HCC/AOS.

The genus Paphiopedilum is a rather large one so to expect some one here to give you culture directions for each and every species in each and every group is quite an ask.
In more simple terms, the mottled leaf types require more water, less light and cooler temperatures. The bigger strap leafed Paphiopedilums like rothschildianum like more light, a bit less water and can take temperatures a bit warmer. But then you get many species that are in between those two.
I grow mine under lights, others members are growing in a room or a greenhouse.

I might suggest a good basic book about Paphiopedilums and learn as you go. Start out with a few mottled leaf types like Paphiopedilum callosum, Paph. Maudiae, Paph. Macabre and go from there. Start out slowly with just a few then add a few as you have some success with the first few that you have acquired.

Welcome to the group! Begonias are great companion plants with lots of orchids because they help keep humidity up. That said, orchids in terrarium conditions… well… there are some that will work but it’s often a challenge to keep them from rotting in any closed environment; in general, orchids love air flow.
