It is widespread from North to South America, but it is not so popular in cultivation. Indeed, I was surprised that there wasn't a photo of this species in Wikimedia Commons (so I contributed there). The individual flower is quite exotic looking. I got this from Lee's Botanical Gardens (I think it was $3 or so). It is easy to grow as long as you keep it pretty moist/wet and warm. Linus, it is from Lee's Botanical Gardens. His website got compromised, so he is just going only with FB (link). If you don't do FB, I can send you his contact email. But he might not be able to reply quickly (I'm not sure if his operation has recovered from the hurricane).
