I think about 10-15 days. that's a very big bud, and the spike only starts to grow. I have never seen one in bloom but now I realize how huge is this species!

I've been growing it for more than 2 years now, into rockwool growcubes, topped with expanded clay. low light (90% shade), quite high humidity (60-100%), temps from 10°C to 30°C depending on the season (wide range).
wet and normal fertilizing during the warm season (pH=7), drier in winter with a rest.
I also water at least twice a year with dithane 2g/L (containing mancozebe), on the advise of sanderianum; it has really helped them to grow this year and their leaves have become quickly a nice green.

This bud looks really huge but because of the missing stem/stalk at least pretty unusual not to say freaky. I can't believe that the stalk will grow to a normal length when the bud has been already developed in this way.

Yes I think it will be quite short (but it still grows), AND it's possible there will be 2 flowers... to be continued!
