Actually, I am online.

We have power down the core of the house so I have about 9 outlets I can utilize for light and charging electronics. No heat, no hot water, but, go figure, I have internet access!

I slept well under two down comforters last night, the animals appear to be staying warm. Due to the core electricity we were able to get the pellet stove working upstairs yesterday so there is heat there. Hopefully the plants are doing okay, I haven't really been concerned with that.

At any rate, I likely won't be here too much until things are back to normal. If you need something major, talk to Candace, Zach, or Jon.

Good luck Heather!!!! I hope we will have you back soon...:D:D:D after everything is fixed to normal...:D

Good luck indeed, guys.

I've really grown to hate ice storms--it was mostly lovable snow in Michigan, now ice here. It's easy to view them as beautiful things (and they are), but they become so much less so when surrounded by majestic old oaks on your street and you own a lot of fish that need power! (Battery air stones are something, but only to a point.)

Lots of blankets and furry pets are the way to go though. :) Glad you've got internet, Heather.

I guess we were lucky, we just had a bunch of snow plus a little sleet for about an hour. I guess really cold is good for something, good luck and hope things warm up alot tomorrow

I heard from some people that a lot of national grid crews were heading to the albany, ny area so best wishes for the guys and gals here in that area; guess a lot of people there no power because of a huge number of snapped power poles due to ice

I hope everyone's OK over there in that ice storm area. Ice can make things look beautiful, but it can devastate the land and the people in it!

Hang in there Heather! I saw video on the news here of your ice storm. We've suffered the same types of storms here in Nebraska. During our last biggest ice storm my sister was without power for a week. Mine never went out, but I had a house guest for a week.

Hi guys!

Thanks for all of the well wishes. We are hanging in here. Still no major electricity or heat but thank goodness we have what we have. We think we *may* have hot water but I'd rather wait and shower tomorrow before work than waste it today.
It's interesting how conservation minded you become when you have to save something.

Got plenty to do, x-mas cards and wrapping...resume updating, reading, can download and watch tv and movies, and I'm online so it could be a lot worse, for sure.

Oh, probably going to have to help clean out the fridge as well. Blech.
I am really hoping that we are done with this today but I'm not all that optimistic, frankly...off to call the electric company.

Power outages are no fun.

It's amazing what we take for granted that needs electricity until some storm or something shuts us down.

Fortunately you have the basics covered.

We're having an ice storm tonight. It was raining and thundering earlier at the same time it was pelting us with ice crytals. Hopefully we won't end up like you folks on the east coast. The bad part is trying to get into your vehicle in the morning and it's completely incased in ice. I stopped at the grocery store after work and it was a mad house. Looks like it will be a 'White Christmas' after all.

well, at least a glittery one; though we keep getting large snow storms but then it warms up and quite a bit melts away. it still feels fairly warm here though according to radar the storms are still quite a ways off. we have forecast for 5-10 tomorrow, but if it sticks to the usual snow then that's no big deal (just snow, though)
