Hello all,

Everything is in the title! ;) I would like to know if Cypripedium bardolphianum can stand rain all the winter long or if it must be protected from rain like tibeticum for example.

In advance, thank you for your help.

Best regatds.

It is not so sensitive like the macranthum and the tibeticum kinds.

But you need a well frained soil and more humus rich than other kinds.

The same as for fasciolatum I have good results.

In inorganic soil they do not very well.

About 20% of rotten coco fibre ( Beudohum ) or pures humus. From a good garden soil should work.

Have all mine outside, and please dont plant them to seep, they dont like it.

Wehre did you buy it??

Do you have a pictura of the root.

There was sold from a guy of germany some.

But he never wanted to send me a picture of the roots offered, so I decided not to buy.

A lot of the plants of him look like the offers, from a different country.

Would great if you have a picture.

Hi Dido,

Sorry, but I have no picture, but the root system of my plant was not very strong even if its bud was very nice. However, I ordered a C. japonicum from the same seller and its root system was very white and strong.

Regards,

Mafate

Sounds good for the japonicum, have made the experience that japonicum and debile if they are not really light near yellow white color you have not much chances to grow them for long time.

Bardolphilum gets white with time, but never like this kinds.
