That huge wave rolling over farmlands is a truly frightening sight. But so far, I'm impressed with how well the building in Tokyo seem to have survived this enormous shock.

I'm impressed with how well the building in Tokyo seem to have survived this enormous shock.

Mercifully, the Japanese have been expecting this earthquake and built and planned accordingly.

Still, I can't see any amount of preparation being enough to escape such horror unscathed physically or emotionally.

I am, with a great anticipation, awaiting the reply emails from my friends in Japan---particularly my friend in Yokohama. My church congregation support a married couple of missionaries in Tokyo itself. I hope the news will be good on Sunday morning.

During my college days, I spent 4 years in Tokyo, where I met so many students who were from all over Japan including some from Miyagi pref. After coming to the U.S., I lost the contact with most of them. As I recall, I have a few friends from Miyagi pref. I have no way to contact them. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

I hope they are ok.

From the helicopter's video report, It is heart-wrenching to see those cars running on the highway, you wish that they could go faster ,even you know they can not make it with the way the water spread .
It is truly a sad disaster, I pray for them, but deep in my heart, I am so certain that a group as proud & amazing as the japanese people will be able to recover without any chaos, fighting, or looting that we may have seen in other places around the globe when something happened.

my husband & I looked at the pics, where do you begin with a disaster like that?
