This longifolium sent up about 10" of spike a year ago, and then stopped. I didn't know what it was, as the tag had long been lost. I kept watering it each day, and this spring it finally started to grow again. Very weird, never seen this before. But it opened and I was delighted.
The synsepal is about twice as wide as the one on a Don Wimbur I have in bloom just now. Certainly unusually wide, but also lovely, more striking than usual.
