Excellent to see this one! The flower looks like it has great proportion to the plant with a short spike. I have 2 now and the larger is getting to be about your size. I have high hopes for them. What is yours potted in?

Thanks guys.
I was planning on repotting in fall, so it's still in it's initial potting mix
which seems to be a basic mix of bark/perlite/charcoal.

Looks like a nice one; good form and size. The mix formula should be an 8-1-1 ratio of sdlg bark-large perlite-charcoal.

Do you use the same mix for the different stages of growth or is it
only for seedlings ?

We use the same formula from community pot through adult size for all our Phrags. We've tried many mix formulas over the years, but always seem to come back to this iteration because it works as well as anything else, and it's not horribly expensive. We actually buy our mix from Robert's Flower Supply in Ohio. They call it their "General Purpose Seedling & Dendrobium Mix". Their web address is: www.orchidmix.com ........And we have no financial interest in Robert's; it's just good mix.

has anyone made and / or flowered the cross of this and besseae flavum? Results? If no flowers yet, are the seedlings pigmented? I'm so curious to see how albinism works in phrags...

We did remake Eric Young with long fma album and besseae fma flavum parents, and all the seedlings so far bloomed with some pink coloration. We crossed a couple back to besseae fma flavum, though, so it's possible we may have some yellow Don Wimbers.
