This is a clone from Japan, although I don't know its clone name. This is going to be problematic so I may not take this to judging. I might if timing is good to show my first bloom Paph roth this Saturday. Flower number four is opening.

Back to this Lycaste. Flower measures 16 cm (or 6 inches). Substance is heavy. Color is great. For those of you who knows this genus well, I did not flower this in Texas. I got it from California, and credit my friend who helped me packed it so well that the buds survived the shipping !

It's 15F here in Dallas/Fort Worth Texas. Last Saturday we enjoyed 80F temperature. I'm opening the shade cloth in my greenhouse and will update a photo of this flower under filtered sunlight later today or tomorrow.

Maybe this one here found on the internet??

Yeah, I've been getting back into lycastes too. The Japanese breeding is really nice. It one's I have came in 'gorilla hair' (Redwood fiber) which I'm not sure I'm going to leave them in. I know it's not supposed to break down, but I wonder about acidity. I suppose if you keep it flushed you'll be OK, but I really have no idea.
