I got this Masdevallia melanoxantha from Ecuagenera about 2 years ago. But it was mislabelled as M. melanoglossa. It is somewhat similar to M. scobina, but I think this is M. melanoxantha. I outlined the difference between these two species and a taxonomic key in my Orchid Borealis blog post (link here with a couple additional detail photos as well as links to botanical illustrations). I appreciate it if someone can tell me if I'm right or wrong about the ID.
It was a bit stressed after the initial import, but it is growing well now, and this is the first bloom for me.
Growing in 20C (68F) day, 10C (50F) night in the same condition as other Masdevallias and Telipogons. More details of the condition are described here.
