2 weeks ago my Restrepia antennifera pushed out a massive flower bud. Having seen many trichoglossa and guttulata blooms I was amazed by the size of the antennifera bud.
Here is a pic of the flower (it opened yesterday morning).
These are very difficult to photograph with a little point-and-shoot Sony so here is a closer look at the plant's smaller bits:
This plant was sent to me from a very kind Dutch friend.
I'm very happy with the flower I just hope it can survive the upcoming summer. The last one was very rough on my Pleurothallids. The last time Ecuagenera came the visit I placed my order too late so that brachypus I want eluded me... but they will visit again next year. My Trisetella hoejeri survived the last summer and is sending up new growths so I'm hoping I will be able to post photos it it one of these days.
