I am a novice - just started growing orchids last year.I just purchased my fifteenth orchid in Florida. Drove it all the way home in the back seat. I have a variety of phals, cattleyas, one oncidium. one dendrobium, two pahilopediums, one phragmepedium, one cymbidium, one agraecum and one hybrid trichoglottis brachiata philippineensis. Has anyone ever heard of the last one? It was a gift and I can't get it to bloom.

hi there
i just killed, well, am in the final process of killing a Trichoglottis brachiata.....

There is a cross between Trichoglottis brachiata x Trichoglottis philippinensis. It was registered in 2005 by Jer Nan Su under the name Gu-Gon Best in the RHS. Unfortunately I can not find a photo on the Internet.

 WELCOME to ST! Get ready for those numbers to go up, we're wonderful at enabling! ;)

Dot,
I have it in a clay pot in a bright sunny southern window with a curtain to shade bright rays. It is growing tall, but no signs of blooming. I am wondering if I should repot it?

Hybrid

I'm curious if you have a hybrid of trichoglottis brachiata x phill. or just the species var. phill.?

I believe it is a hybrid, but I am not sure. I received it as a gift from an online source.:)

How long have you had it, Karen? If longer than a year, it might be a good idea to at least look at the roots. Judging from what orchidspecies.com has to say, the plant probably has to be fairly big to bloom.

Are you fertilizing it?
