WOW! What a beautiful Opening Ceremony!!!! China really did a beautiful job. I hope all of you had the privilege of seeing the opening ceremonies to the Olympic Games.

Would love to hear your opinions!

haha!!! well live or not, it did happen afterall. and i hafta say that it's probably be the only grand thing well really get to see. like how often in a lifetime to you get to see a couple thousand people performing per section of the show? not to mention how in sync there were all

I'm not watching. I can't get past the fact that it's not live.

The CBC broadcasted it live. You'd probably need a satilite to get it in California. They are very good with sports broadcasting - almost 24 hrs a day during Olympics!

The Opening Ceremonies were very good, I agree!

I'm quite proud of the USA team's choice in selecting Lopez Lomong to be the flag-bearer.

Back in my college running days I got to see him run at a meet. The guy has some serious wheels.

I check the link, It feels good to see there are peoples who would do the right thing.
I agree that the ceremony is awesome. I also think that the chinese citizens can be proud of their collective achievement.
One interesting feature is the part with all the children photos of the world on the screen, as if the message is " the children are the future" lets us build a harmonious and hopefilled environment for humanity.
China can show the potential to do everything right as per the message it projects at the show. (or it could be just another Madison Avenue advertising gloss full of emtiness in practice) Of course, it can chose to or not to influence the events in Darfur to alleviate the suffering of the african natives.
There is also a fascinated program about China last week on TV, showing its influence (good & bad) all over the world (South America, Africa, Asia etc..& etc..)
