Orchid garden visit

Worth a visit if you're ever in Kuching -- the most fun part being the sampan (wooden boat) ride across the Sarawak river.

Here are some pics of species. They're really not too fond of labels or ID's for orchids there for some reason... oke:

Wonderful photos. Did you make it to the border market?
There's some incredibly interesting plants for sale at great
prices at the border market if you don't mind a little
haggling. It's a lot of fun even if you have to give the plants to a Kuching friend before coming home.

Where in Kuching is this? Is it Au Yong's nursery (Orchidwood)?

Not Orchidwoods, that nursery has been shut down since 2013 from what I can tell. This is the state run garden close to Brooke's Astana.

abax, yes I've started a conservatory of sorts in my aunt's garden from plants I got from that market. Here's one of the bellinas that was blooming : )

That's a lovely native bellina. I have a friend in Kuching
who grows all of his orchids on the trees in his yard. Most
of them are border market plants and they're beautiful. I
love seeing them grow that way. I hope you had fun. I
really enjoyed that market.
