My sweet girlfriend drove me to an orchid nursery today I've never seen before. They specialize in Japanese native orchids and wildflowers, but they had a few exotics as well. I got some nice deals. Here's a couple.
This mini was only labeled "Tanirii". Can anybody ID it for me? It is very small, standing less than 10 cm tall and the flowers are around 2 cm wide. It has a lovely sweet, candy-like smell. He cost me $10.
They had some nice fuukiran as well. I picked up this guy for just $26. It is an old form called 'Shinkirou'.
I also got a couple other orchids, Dendrobium loddigesii and Cleisostoma scolopendrifolium (another Japanese native epiphyte), both for $10 and good size. A very nice day orchid shopping.
