Orchids in movie trivia

I was watching the newer version of James Bond Casino Royale (in Spanish) this afternoon, and there was a fancy dinner scene. On the table between Bond and the actress there was an orchid in several views

Trivia - what was the orchid and possible parentage?

Also, what other movies do you remember seeing orchids?

I had a vague thought that there was an earlier version of 'casino royale' but I could be wrong. This was a modern film, not an earlier one.
Being near the city there are tons of Spanish language stations. I've discovered that some or many movies I've tried to watch that have relatively well-known 'English speaking' actors/actresses, the movies are filmed with them speaking Spanish instead of English then dubbed to Spanish. Funny thing is that almost all the movies I've seen, even if they are speaking Spanish they have different voices dubbed over the original. I don't know if famous movies made in English have the same exact set/props as ones filmed in other languages; so don't know if the orchid is the same in English and Spanish versions. I hadn't seen the movie yet so don't know

It is totally fake - but - Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid (2004).

I suppose the only true part is the extent that one might go to hunt for a rare orchid in the wild.

That is indeed correct! I starred Orsen Welles as the villain. Peter Sellers played James Bond so two guesses how that script played out... Actually, several people played James Bond (including Woody Allen) and Ursula Andress.

Don't think there were any orchids in that version but there were in Moonraker: some sort of pink Catt if memory serves.

There was an actual slipper orchid in a Star Trek Voyager episode. One of the characters said 'Paphiopedilum.'

No, David Niven was Bond. I remember thinking how many beautiful women were in the movie...

I just saw a really crappy indie horror movie this weekend...."Contracted". Well, you can imagine what the lead character contracts. But she's trying to get into college, and work with orchids. They always show her working with phals. Well, in the scene where she is completely decrepit, both physically and mentally, she shows up at the school with a totally spent, wilted supermarket phal. She's asked, "Is this your Dendrobium spectabile?" "Yes it is." Not sure if it was intentional to show how far gone she was, but somehow I doubt it.
