The first local Orchis begin to flower. Sometimes considered to be Orchis patens var. canariensis. Can be nearly pure white to pink. Up in the mountains from 800m to nearly 2000m.

Lots of Greenovia aurea ready to bloom, too.

I haven't seen so many healthy looking succulents in a
long time. I can't see the flowers particularly well, but
it seems to resemble our native Fringed Orchid in shape.

These flown-away birds - and some others - are eventual guests. I'll never try to capture them, though they enter into the flat, cause I have no space to keep them as they should, or they are far too noisy (Agapornis). Those who stay for longer get water and feed, most just are a few hours around. The crested canary could have been quite expensive.

These Orchis are growing high in the mountains, at about 1500m altitude. There are a many steep ravines and cliffs, where lots of endemic plants - like Greenovia, Aeonium, Monanthes etc. - form a really amazing 'stone-garden'. In summer all looks like bone dry, but with the first rains, all gets green. Now is the beginning of our short springtime.
