Orchis pallens in flower

In the last days I had the possibility to visit a wonderful habitat of Orchis pallens in the south of Bavaria 70 km south of Munic.

Beside I found also a lot of Gentiana verna.

Very nice! These, along with the Ophrys, are the jewels or the orchid world I wish I could grow in my garden. But they wouldn't last a winter here.

My guess would be some herbivore like a rabbit or deer.

thats what i thought but they are not bitten
they look to be straight edge cuts

A pure yellow Orchis species, very nice

THere is also another pure yellow one which will come in flower later with mor e whitish yellow flowers
