I think you Pacific Northwest folk have particularly good weather for many of the Pleuros to start with.

Yup, yup... and they are just as addictive as paphs. I have somehow managed to accumulate over 100 draculas along with many dozens of other pleurothallids. They're so cute and small when you get them that you just assume you'll be able to find room on the bench for "just one more." Also appealing is the fact that so many of the pleuros have such beautiful foliage and growth habit characteristics that flowering is sometimes secondary to the plant, itself.

I have a few dracula vampira for ages ( they came from the Orchid Zone, the wide leafed strain...), and they are indeed even hot tolerant, though they do not like it so much, they are very robust growers...

One thing about Dracula vampira - quite a few cultivars I have seen don't completely flatten out and they are somewhat cup-shaped. If that bothers you, then whenever possible, it's always a good idea to see the plant in bloom before purchasing. But even cupped, vampira is one of the most magnificent species in the group.

i am only picky when it comes to paphs
