This plant, a cross of Ano Nuevo and F.C. Puddle, follows the normal convention of crossing Puddle with some big green. Ano Nuevo was registered in 1957 and is a cross of Cadina, whose lovely green color lives on through Caddiana, Lambert Day, and modern crosses with the influence of Todd Clark, and Bordube 'Eau de Nil', which I've gone on about before as an important progenitor yellow. Ano Puddle was registered in 1966 by McClellans, and 'Eureka' is the only awarded clone, receiving an HCC/AOS for J. Frank Hughes in 1978 and an upgrade to an AM/AOS for W.W. Wilson in 1985. My plant is from Frank Hughes; I must confess I've never bloomed it as well as its award photos.
It is not a particularly important parent, with only 4 registered crosses, although Vanilla Ice, x Ansum, would be a teacup for you Ross...
It's pretty and it grows quickly, and is a nice homage to a great grower that I never got the chance to meet.
