First bloom seedling from Pete in Hawaii. Started out with 4 buds but only 3 made it.

David, Your question is a hard one to answer. I got two plants from Pete on the same day. Both were the same size, about 14 inches. The first kept growing and has bloomed a couple of times, the last in 2010 I think. This one is a round 20 inches, single growth and blooming for the first time. The first is multigrowth, probably in the 28 inch range or more and I believe it is putting up a bud sheath.

I do love these, but mine took a good while to get to the stage of flowering. Need to see some new growths soon. A very good first display.

Thanks Rick. Mine is 32 inches across and growing. It is still a single growth seedling with no sign of any new leads. I think it was about 14 inches when I got it as well. It did nothing for 2-3 years until I did something right and it took off. I gave it a bit more shade and it seemed to like that. Sounds like it should flower soon. I hate to see how big it will get when it matures.

David and others, Both of my plants bloomed on single growths without new starts. Not until after blooming did either break new leads.
I just stepped out to measure the first plant, the growth that seems to be breaking a flower bud is 33 inches, the 2nd is 20+ inches and the third is in the 16 inch range. the original old growth is probably 33 inches as well. Hope this helps

Thanks Justin,
If I am remembering correctly I think this one has a flatter dorsal along with the darker markings.

Nice cross, Rick. I'm very much looking forward to bloom mine. In fact, your greenhouse must be pretty close to paradise right now. You have lots of awefully nice flowers lately!

It's spring! Carsten yours is probably going crazy too (GH). Was gone last wk-end, cleaning a cemetery:( No time for Paradise until I got home.
