Anyone have a thought about what this could be? I was thinking charlesworthii x barbatum or purpuratum, but I couldn't find enough photos to verify.

Charlesworthii is definitely in the dorsal but as for the rest I have no idea. I hope you find the answer.
 
Are we sure that it's primary? It looks to me like it has a little more going for it.

Not sure, but judging from where the plant came from, I thought it might be a primary.

Barbatum x charlesworthii has 4 names: Barbato-charlesworthii, Henri Duval, Lumsdenii & Madame Bette -- apparently registered before the RHS got their act together.

Charlesworthii x tonsum has 2 names: Nellie & Tonso-Charlesworthii.

Can't find decent photos of any of them.

Beautiful flower, Dot.

From the colour I'd bet is has a vinicolor flower as the other parent, and therefore think in the same direction as Scott and Charlie.
