It would seem that I had luck with blooming another difficult one this year! This one joined the collection back in 2007 as a medium seedling, and rewarded us with two blooms this year. Hopefully it doesn't take it ten years to do so again.

Looks good!

I sold mine, it was enormous but I just don't have the space or a patience for one right now. Hopefully one day I'll get a replacement made with more vigorous, modern parents. Until then I'm happy to admire other people's :)

Thanks. We did enjoy it but removed the flower a bit prematurely perhaps, thought it best to avoid stressing it too much, since this was the first spike on a single fan. If memory serves me correctly, both flowers were 41/2” to 5" across.

How large are they usually, I’ve never seen one in bloom before?

Are they usually so large? This one is really quite small with a leaf span of about 14", perhaps the new breeding is creating more compact plants...

Wow, you bloomed a 1 growth delrosi!!! Cool color!!! (I,too, have 2 of them, multigrowth, rather compact, yet looking quite blooming-size, but do not:eek: ) Jean

It didn't have a huge leaf span but it was a large, bushy plant with easily 15 or so growths. I've little space here so it had to go to make room for things that actually flower :D

Thanks. I was looking at the plant again today and notice that it's producing a new shoot but it's also aborting 3 leaves at one time. I'm thinking that the flower spike was a bit much for it, so I'll be sure to take good care of it, so hopefully it can make another appearance on this forum again sometime in the future.

Hey Elena, I would get rid of a plant that that wasn't performing for me too, in fact I’ve already done so many times!
