In bloom this week. The natural spread of the flower is 10.2 cm. If it were not for the dorsal twist, I would have dragged it to AOS judging.

It has been a cool spring and summer for the Chicago-Milwaukee area. I am close enough to Lake Michigan that I get lake-breeze cooling. I did not have a single day over 90F the entire month of July. At my home, we have had only 8 or 9 days over 85 the entire year. Only two weeks in June were what I would call hot, with a couple days above 90 and several consecutive days near 85. Everything is a bit late this year.
