I got this one as a freebie from the orchid society Dec 08 for bringing in the most plants throughout the year. Cash was also included;)

This first flower has problems with the petals, plus the staminode is distorted. The second has opened and looks good.

Lovely colour and hopefully the shape is better next time.

I had to look twice at the name, thankfully it's not called Marilyn Manson.....

I was just visiting with Marilyn Hanson today. Yes - the very Marilyn Hanson this cross is named for.

I am pretty sure she has never heard of Marilyn Manson. :poke:

the color looks red on my screen!!! Is it that red? Jean
Hot Pink Jean!

I would hope not Scott. Although the colors are pretty psychedelic!

  Can you offer some cultural tips?
I've had one for several years, hasn't bloomed & I think it's BS.

I don't know what to say. It's three growths and 2 are/will be blooming. Culture wise nothing different then all the others. It is on the top bench, that equals strongest light for the logest period of time. The leaves do have a purple tinge to them when they first emerge.
I can say I never buy a plant thinking it's not going to bloom. I don't pay any attention to rumors of "difficult plants". I always think it will bloom so I guess I "will it" into blooming. Does that help?:D

(PS I normally don't show plants that aren't/ haven't bloomed. This maybe my real secret)
