Probably a stupid question, but i would still want to ask:

Maudiae is supposed to be a name for the cross between lawrenceanum and callosum.

But most so called "Maudiae" today are apparantly multi-crossed Maudiae hybrids. So, is Maudiae the name a bit confusing????

By the way, tcw your flower shows deep red color which is superb!

In fact, called "Maudiae Type" is more suitable. If there is no mating, who also could not guess their parents just as the "complex", they do cause confusion.

Yes, these type are Maudiae Type. Some uninformed judges here would not like to admit it as Maudiae Type, because the petals are wide, even after being told that the breeding line tends to get both dorsal sepal and the petals wider. I had ShinYing Leopard , posted here in Sept/Oct, and when entered at a show here, was rejected as Maudiae type and was placed in "Non Standard Hybrid".
But this is a stunning vini Maudiae type. What is the parentage TC ???
