I've written it exactly as the tag reads. It appears that it will be more of the alba Esmerelda than the species sukhakulii that I really wanted. On the
other hand, the bud is very large and beginning to open a bit. If it's a mostly green bloom, it'll be offered next year for auction.

If it has no name other than the cross, do I get to give it a name???? That might be fun. ;>) Thank you, ozpaph.

Just the one I ordered, rose.

It's almost open and it's a very large, very nice bloom, but not exactly what
I wanted...it's mostly green. I wanted the species...you know, the one with
actual colors. However, the leaves are gorgeous. I'd trade it for a similar
sized non-alba suk. The plant is actually prettier than the photo on ebay.

You do have the species, but it has the alba form in it, which is why it's green. The regular form is fairly available -- hopefully someone who likes green will be willing to trade with you.

ditto on what Dot said.
Post a pic when it's fully open & who knows, there may be someone up for a trade!

Does the alba form occur in nature or is it manipulated? Generally, I don't
care for most alba Paphs. nor green flowers. For instance, I don't understand the reason for, let's say, a green venustum. It's a matter of
taste, but it seems the species as it grows in its natural habitat is much
nicer to me. It almost seems to me that species are fading in popularity while albas (album?) that don't often occur in
nature are becoming more popular. Perhaps I have a limited
view point.

While I'm at it, I can't seem to post a photo from my Samsung Galaxy to my Mac computer and then to ST. I've tried everyone's advice and tried to use Flicker, Image
Shack and a couple of others and just can't make it work. I donno why. I can send an
email photo...go figure.

If I'm not mistaken, the alba varieties do occur in nature. They are kind of like albino varieties. I'm not crazy about a lot of the alba varieties of paphs either but some that I really like are the alba varieties of delenatii, bellatulum, lowii, and vietnamense.
