today bloom the Paph thaianum and purpuratum of my friend in Vietnam. I want to share with you .

They look great, thanks for the pictures. I'm not normally a fan of barbatas but that purpuratum is seriously nice.
 
No, most purpuratums have really sucky dorsals. This one deserves appreciation.

I'd bet that purpuratum is freshly open and the dorsal will curl back on the sides over the next couple weeks as most do. Still, it is impressive, and one of my favorite species.

I was really thinking along the lines of how pretty they are in general, and under represented in collections.

Though they can be real dyers too.:(
 
That is without question the best purpuratum I have seen! And thaianum is cute too..................Eric
 
Beautiful flowers.
Do you have problems with insects, growing them outdoors in Vietnam?
If you do, do you have to use pesticides?
