Here is today's photo of the flower. It had some green this time, but faded to this nice yellow quickly.

Here is a picture of the same plant on a previous flowering that was much greener and didn't fade as much to yellow.

I also like the current flowering, nice yellow/orange color. Great round shape too!
 
I like the first more, but the yellow is nice too!!! It seems that it got rounder too...!!! And there is another bud coming up...:)
 
The way the synsepal mirrors the dorsal is right from the judging textbook, isn't it? That clear yellow is also pretty nice.

I'm also surprised it hasn't been used more in breeding than on that half dozen occassions, maybe bad timing since it was registered towards the end of the last golden era of complex breeding?

The colors don't bother me, either is good. The shape looks as though it has improved, that is good!

I got the plant as a small, single growth a few years ago, 2002? The plant has been slow putting out growths. This is the third flowering and the best as far as size and shape. It goes to show that larger plants not only produce larger flowers, but better shaped ones as well.
