I love how colorfull this primary hybrid is! As the name says, it is a cross between Paph. tigrinum and Paph. henryanum. The plants are much more vigorous than either parent.

Very nice. I suspect crossed back onto Henry will create a few taxo problems.

Oh yes, I think you have a point. With the improved color and form contributed by the Paph. tigrinum several generations back, there could eventually be a grex of Paph. henryanum worthy of joining those flat-dorsaled Paph. spicerianum and the tubular pouched Paph. godefroyae along with others in the circle of so-called line bred super species (but with help from mystery ancestors).

Arround a year ago there was a henryanum on a local show which I did not believe to be a henryanum. The judges did not see anything wrong with it, even though its size fell well outside the limits for a henry, and its shape was sort of 'off'. I never considered this hybrid, but now I am even more convinced.

Sorry, but I made this cross years ago, and we only had about one or two dozen plants. This is the only one left from that cross :-( But I definitely will remake it!
