Oh, that is really a pretty flower!
80 points huh? That is a little disappointing but so hard to tell exactly with an image on line. Segments do not line up exactly in a straight line but for me that is a minor deduction. I think the color is superior and I would have expected, with that flower count, a mid range AM. Heck, it is still a very nice flower! Congratulations.

Absolutely lovely all of them .... colour and stance of a single flower, flower count and state of the well grown plant. Congrats to the award.

Congrats!
Your helenae plants always look so big and healthy...what is the growing medium? Light and temperature? how often do you repot them?
Hey Tom-DE
I grow these in Orchiata and horticultural pumice. I'm growing in a greenhouse now so it's 1/3 small bark (Precision) to 2/3 medium (Power) with a little pumice. When I grew under lights I grew in Orchiata Precision and a little pumice. I water very heavily whenever they're dry... about once or twice a week. Temperature in the green house is 55⁰ F to 85⁰ F in the winter and what ever the temperature is outside in the summer. I have exhaust fans that come on when it reaches 85⁰ F in the greenhouse. I also have a couple circulation fans on the inside but no cooling system setup yet. I have a 65% Aluminet shade cloth all year. Humidity is 65%-85%.

Thank you for the culture tips, Phred. I truly appreciate that. It sounds like you grow them quite warm and bright year round.
