Second blooming this year. In spring 5 flowers and now 4.
Even though I have not replanted since 2004. Must replant and split in 2 divisions.

Vey nice. Good photos as well.

Why do you need to split it? Insigne does better for me in large clumps. I'd personally just let it get bigger and bigger.

I've got to second what David said. Repotting yes in case the potting medium has decayed but why divide?? Your plant looks much better in specimen size.

Best regards from Germany, rudolf

That is a beautiful specimen size plant you've got there; and the blooms are lovely!!!! Congratulations !!!

Berrack, that is one great looking plant and a quality flower. I would tend to agree with others that I personally would not divide. Very nice. Doug

Thanks all.

Why I must divide it.

Its growing in two directions and takes to much space in my cold growing area. Now I can have it in my winter garden with temperatures down to 14 deg and seldom above 20. When it gets warmer I have to move.

Long time ago I promised a friend a division. Now its time to keep that promise. It will still be a quite large plant after division.

Good reason, and good choice.

That's a damn good insigne. I don't think it will be set back by dividing it at this size...just keep the divisions large. Take care, Eric
